This secondary brake provides protection from a failure of a winch drive component or the primary motor brake. This brake shall engage automatically if the winch drum exceeds a preset speed, in the down direction, and smoothly stop. The brake engages solely by centrifugal mechanical action, operates independently, and requires no sensors, power sources, or controls.

The rolling drop can raise and lower backdrops, screens and others. The rolling speed, drop heights and lengths can be modified for specific need. DMX control configurations are also available.
